Propel Health Attends Luncheon Entitled
“Making it Personal:  The Connected Health Technology Revolution”

Displaying

June 28, 2017 – Propel Health representatives attended an event co-sponsored by the Institute for E-Health Policy and the Personal Connected Health Alliance to show their support for a shift from reactive care to proactive wellness.  Congressman Buddy Carter (R-GA) was recognized and thanked by the two organizations for hosting this event.

In the midst of a transition to quality and value-based care, connected health technologies are critical enablers of more effective, engaged and coordinated care. A key aspect of this transformation is personal connected health, the growing patient- and consumer-centric approach facilitated by technologies that improve healthcare delivery and self-health through mobile and remote monitoring devices, telehealth, and wearables. Personal connected health technologies have the potential to expand access to quality care for underserved communities (both urban and rural), facilitate proactive disease prevention and chronic care management, increase patients’ understanding of their health and improve patient and provider satisfaction.

While this transformation/revolution has been a top priority for government and healthcare stakeholders, much work still remains. Congress has an important role to play by encouraging the use and innovation of connected health technologies through important reforms to federal healthcare programs. The panel of leading healthcare experts will touch on:

  • How major technology and health trends are driving a movement towards personal connected health that focuses on prevention over treatment
  • How advances in connected health technologies are helping patients and providers improve outcomes
  • How removing barriers to deployment of technologies and services will improve access and quality and reduce costs
  • Ways the government can promote innovation in personal connected health

Panelists Include:

  • Patty Mechael (moderator) – Executive Vice President, Personal Connected Health Alliance
  • Dr. Charlotte Yeh – Chief Medical Officer, AARP Services, Inc.
  • Dr. Fred Rachman – Chief Executive Officer, AllianceChicago
  • Deanna Larson  – Chief Executive Officer, Avera eCare
  • Erik Pupo  – Managing Director, Accenture Health & Public Service
